What I am reading!
I make and modify clothes in my spare time.
I bought this sweater from Forever21 and dip dyed it. It seemed a bit bare so I bought 6 skeins of Lion Brand Romance yarn in purple and looped it through along the shoulders and bottom. It reminds me of the jacket Bernadette Peters wore in Slaves of New York. Just less green.
Hats, wigs and all things you should put on your head.
Shoes, so many shoes!
The Sunshine Family fan in me is pleased.
They were a little plain so I added some passementerie and cabochons.
The Siouxsie and the Banshees fan in me is pleased.
The La Cage Aux Folles fan in me is pleased!
I loved these boots but the laces were uninspired. So I added some ribbon!
The Moulin Rouge fan in me is pleased.
The Lone Justice, Jason and the Scorchers fan in me is pleased with these shoes.
The hands in my home.
Street Art I see here and abroad
All the food I make
Beets, fennel, green garlic, red onions, pea shoots, ham, an amazing Italian blue cheese dusted with cinnamon, mustard lemon white balsamic vinaigrette, poached duck eggs and crostini.
I love the combination of blackberries and cracked black pepper. The combo is out of this world in a hand pie!
Is there anything else to add? It was delicious!
Poached duck eggs on cheesy grits with sauteed onions, mushrooms and a sourghum, soy, ginger & garlic sauce and lardons!
Lamb merguez sausage in a spiced tomato sauce with preserved lemon and apricots. Topped with poached eggs and feta.
Could there be anything more perfect?
I had some bamboo frames lying around from the thrift store. I also recently found a collection of vintage sheet music. So why not combine them? I fed the sheet music through my inkjet printer, cut it down and placed it in the frame. Fast and easy art!
